SPECIAL SUGAR GLIDER'S REQUIREMENTS
Sugar gliders are exotic animals and they have quite specific needs when it comes to their diet, housing and care. Not everybody is suited for sugar gliders depending on their lifestyle and other factors (job, other pets, housing, etc). Captive sugar gliders can live as long as 15 years and this is an idea of the amount of commitment required by you. Also, although they do make fantastic pets in the right circumstances, they sometimes are not ideal for children given the commitment required.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
What to know before buying or adopting a sugar glider
- Sugar gliders MUST be kept in a minimum of pairs
- Minimum cage/viv requirements 4 x 2 x 2 ft
- Specific diet with supplements required
- Access to an exotic vet is required
- Set up costs for sugar gliders can be expensive
- They are addictive so you have been warned!
